It is still thriving, the only difference is, it is now not vocalised but hidden. In the UK Black people prefer the term black, and have no need to prefix with British black or British Asian. The real problems seem to be a greater chasm between rich and poor and white, black, Asian or other are in the same boat when it comes to the bottom of the ladder.

Voted : Thier is a lot of racism around of course there is, it's a direct result of insecurity, a easy way for simple folk to put other people Down, boosting themselves Up. We will not Ever rise about this need.. Really, Look at this pitiful world :p Racist "positive doscrimination" laws, employers forced to take on a workers based on colour rather than merit, regular black on white racist muggings/attacks that arent reported as racist crimes because a member of a minority CANT be racist to a member of a majority, Muslims excused from rioting and other such barbarism because they are a "minority" and are "misunderstood", etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc Yes, I think its safe to say that racism is alive and well, albeit with a different set of victims and a different set of insidious rules. Yes, unfortunately. It's not as socially acceptable as in the past, so people hide it more. If someone sings the song that goes "the world is black, the world is white" (Black and White) by 3 Dog Night does that make them racist?  There is lots of racism around. I experience it a lot. Yes, racism is still common, although some racists have gone underground, and pretend they aren't racist, while promoting a racist agenda. There is at least one of those who is a B&W regular. FF: to lil_ape ya thats bullshit laws; saying that the minority cant be racist. But black on white mugging, its hard to tell if it is a racist crime. And the thing about the workers get jobs because of their color not merit. Another example is affermative action. These laws that help give a boost to blacks are crap. If you want to make a law to help the oppressed, then make it for the poor, and even then you must be careful not to discriminate against the middle and rich class. In America if you want to make it you can, (only some) blacks need to stop looking for government aid and make a living, if you are poor work your ass off and you can make it into the middle class. Government aid sould only be very carefully given out on a tempory bases I was being sarchastic with the "minority cant be racist" comment, but I pretty much agree with everything else you said, particularly the idea of directing the affirmative action towards the poor in general rather than towards people of a certain ethnicity (not that I agree with affirmative action at all, but if it must exist). And an appalling ignorance about what racism is. As long as diffirent races exist, there will be racism. Voted : racism is on the rise racism has seen a sharp increase. in the usa, many mexicans are being targeted for hate crimes. there is a group called the minute men who go to the mexican border to shoot mexicans. arabs are being targeted as well. there are many muslims in america who are afraid to say they are muslim. in europe, there has been many changes in immigration laws. france has paid immigrants to go back to africa. italy is finger printing its roma citizens along with all foreigners. countries like danmark who have been long been "progresive" forces a lot of its interacial couples into malmo. does the mohamed cartoon ring a bell? the netherlands has also changed many of its immigration laws. britain is requiring id cards for all foreigners. people are not hiding their racism. they are openly racist. many countries that used to be non racist are becoming racist. such as the european countries i mentioned. the latest european election a couple of weeks ago showed an increase in seats of far right racists in the european parliment. australia had a riot because the white australians were abusing the lebanese. most u.s. soldiers refer to arabs as hajis, an openly derogatory and racist term, perfectly acceptable in american society. americans dont usually see a problem with racism. they see it as freedom of speech. prince harry refers to pakis as towel heads. just in the past week, there was a racist attack in belfast, where immigrants had to go hiding in a leisure centre. the one first to say racist is being racist discrimination against green cardigans is hihihi8y88866868bleck |
