Are Catholics required to vote Republican?
I'd think they'd vote Republican. They're definitely more conservative compared to baptists and evangelicals. It'd be deeper then just the abortion issue though.
This is a tough one. I think it depends. American Catholics tend to be much more liberal...they tend to be "missionaries" who go to poor countries to help the people of those countires. e.g. Maryknoll, etc.
I think it may be a case of some being conservative and some being liberal...I'm not sure if one is more prevelant over the other?

In all my life, I have never heard the Catholic church talk about voting or political parties. Who you vote for or your political party is a non-issue in the Catholic church, whether it is Byzantine or Roman.
