The only people who kill to honor God are the muslim terrorist, no sane moral person believes that God is pleased by killing. I think as long as there's been history people have Killed For God. But yah, lately it's Them startin it, not US ;)
Yeah, he must be. Bush, told us that God told him to attack iraq. He wouldn't lie to us would he? I think God is saddened by all the hate and violence in the world. It is difficult to tell what God thinks. So many people pretend to speak for Him. If I created beings, I would not appreciate them destorying each other. What does amuse me is all this sucking up to God that Judaism, Christianity, and Islam do. Silly. I mean, how do you see these folks that suck up to the boss in the workplace? Right!. Sychophantic lap poodles of people. And don't you imagine that a God has some such sense of things. And most of this prayerful fawning is done out of fear or hope of gain. If I were God, it would make me gag. And to imagine it "bliss" to hang out in the "heaven" of these toadies just praising, worshipping, and obeying God for eternity, well that wouldn't be heaven for me, or God, I'd think.

I sincerely hope not. I'm sure God sees war as the uttermost stupidity mankind is capable of. ^Not so fast, Zig. How on earth can we "know" that God "sees war as the uttermost stupidity" of mankind? I mean, from the perspective of the world's major religions, God seems quite fond of war. He ordered the Jews into Canaan to kill the lawful occupants of that land; From the current Islamic application of the Koran, God wants Muslims to kill all the Christians; From the Hindu point of view, war is a legitimate face of God. There is plenty of evidence, if you read the "holy" books of virtually all religions that God not only permits, but enjoys war. I do not presume to know what is really going on in the chaos and confusion we call life, but I doubt that we can rule out the possibility that God finds war quite exciting.

I don't see God in the same light that the majority of the world's leading religions insist on presenting God, which is why I don't go to church. ;) God has been twisted by man, not the other way around. (If I were to belong to any denomination, I would probably become a Nazarene. They believe in God as a peaceful, loving benefactor, which is how I imagine he is.) "if you read the "holy" books of virtually all religions that God not only permits, but enjoys war." I respectfully disagree. In some cases with religion war is necessary. If war is to end suffering, to keep your freedom or stop a greater evil, these can all be legitimate reasons. I don't believe that war serves any purpose other than man's own greed and lust for power and domination. God has no role to play in war. ^ Just my own view. War is a Shame, for all of us at once. Yes The Judeo-Christian God revels in war, according to scripture. Norse, Roman and Greek pantheons all have a major god devoted solely to war. I do not include Islam in Judeo-Christian, and they obviously have a love of Jihad. So the answer is probably...Man's interpetations of God is honored by war. What Zig said "Greed, Power, Domination"
