Hi, I'm Psycho_Frighead. Who are you?

My Motto is "Poisonous Plants are Fun..."

I'm out of retirement for now. I have a few more ideas.

It's really nothing personal when I leave for so long...I just get wrapped up in other things, between trying to launch a filmmaking career and keep my bills paid while I do.

Free RV Parking! Yay!

Now if I can just get a hold of an RV...preferably one that runs on completely renewable energy but I don't know if they even make those yet...

well
you can find a diesel one, and run it on waste vegetable oil.

about as renewable as one can get these days.

The Honda Diet

entry #22. posted on 5:13pm Jul 29, 2009 - mood: happy

So, I just got this job where I'm assigned to one of the Honda plants (no it's not on the assembly line), and while I can't tell you WHAT I do because of the confidentiality agreements, I can say that I do a LOT of walking in the course of my job...sometimes up to 12 miles in one night (dead serious, I measured it with a pedometer).

Anyway, at the end of training I'm down 12 lbs (though I also experimented with vegetarian meals the last few days - so that might also be a factor)

Oooo Honda
car or motorcycle? I've been looking to get a VTX for a while now, any employee discount you can pass on? :)

Reply to LCD
I have worked at both plants, but mostly car. Unfortunately I don't get the discount because I'm actually employed by the company that does their security, not by Honda itself.

I know...I take a lot of them...but I've run out of ideas again, and I'm thinking of taking another one. I'm not saying I'm going to do it yet, I'm just thinking about it. Maybe I'll feel better tomorrow...

I honestly did not know George Takei was gay...

entry #19. posted on 9:45pm Aug 31, 2008 - mood: drunk

I was watching a video and hearing Fred Phelps bitching about him because apparently he had a gay wedding about the same time Ellen DeGeneres had hers...and he wanted to know where it was so he could protest.

I say more power to him, but honestly, I had no idea he was gay. Wikipedia says he came out in 2005, but we all know how reliable it can be...but I checked around with a few sources, and lo and behold, he's gay...

I'm not myself, but I can't say I would necessarily turn the chance down if he ever offered...even though I like girls I always thought he was kinda cool...

I was utterly unaware of that, I still remember him in a ST:TOS episode where he was sword fencing.

Guess he really was a Gay Blade.

Yes, very much so...
It's been a fairly well-known fact within followers of genre SF for some time. I found out about ten years ago.

Is it dangerous to lose 3 pounds in a day?

entry #18. posted on 10:31am Jul 16, 2008 - mood: confused

I've started a new eating plan - I'm 6'2" currently about 260, and trying to get down to 200. Well, I read somewhere that if you eat the amount of calories required to maintain your target, you will eventually get down to that. In my case, this is about 2500 calories per day. So I tried this starting yesterday, and I have already lost 3 pounds. But I have also heard that you're not supposed to lose more than two pounds a week, or you'll have problems. Any input?

maybe it's just water...
Sometimes you can lose a lot in one day especially at the beginning of a diet - usually that's simply losing water retention... Over a period of one week, that will probably even out.

The healthiest way that I have heard to lose weight is to always eat breakfast, reduce your calories as you are doing, especially reduce your fat intake, eat lots of fruit and vegetables (the kind you like), and exercise - something as simple as walking 15 minutes more a day. One of my friends said that learning to eat slowly and being conscious of when she was full - so once she was full, she stopped eating, but allowed herself to eat whenever she was hungry - that really made the difference for her, she lost over 80 pounds in one year, and kept it off. It was a question of stopping the cycle of starving/binging...
LCD responded :

yeah, that's just the water weight
when you reduced the foods, you also reduced the salt intake, and that allows the body to lose lots of water. if you continue to lose that amount each day I would worry about it, but I doubt that's going to happen.

so filling up on steam veges eh? I am on a similar boat :)

I think it's water loss, too
I go to a Weight Watchers class and our leader tells us you can only lose about 1.5 pounds of FAT per week. PER WEEK. She says if it is much more than that, it is water loss. She says you also cannot gain more than 1.5 pounds of FAT per week. She says if your salt intake is off, or if you lack sleep, or you do not drink enough, you can gain as much as 10 pounds in water weight in a week. She says if you feel bloated, drinking will cause the excess water to mobilize and you can lose the water weight this way.

I love my DVD printer

entry #17. posted on 2:48pm Jul 13, 2008 - mood: happy

No, I'm not talking about one of those silly light scribes. I'm talking about a printer that prints directly onto a DVD!

They are great! Especially for bootlegs, not that I would ever do that because it is morally wrong and anyone who pirates a DVD should be spanked. Oh wait, I don't believe in spanking. Damn it!

A couple of years ago, you called me some names for a ballot regarding Widescreen DVDs. I left a -5 because the comment contained the F-word. Then you called me another name.

But it is okay. You are forgiven.

Peace.

Why is gas so damn expensive in the U.P.?

entry #15. posted on 10:42pm Jun 09, 2008 - mood: confused

My car ran out of gas in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan recently. It was $4.35/gallon (Typical price in Ohio right now is $3.80 to $3.99)

I know Michigan is higher than us, but why do those poor Yoopers have to pay so much more than the residents of the Lower Peninsula? (It was $4.09 there.) It's not like they're in Hawaii...

Wisconsin smells like cow dung...

entry #14. posted on 7:52pm Jun 01, 2008 - mood: amused

I was on a road trip yesterday, which took me through Wisconsin. The whole state seems to smell like cow pies. I wonder if this is natural because it is practically the dairy capital of the world...
