it is now so convoluted, by all the special interest groups provisioning their own little paragraph in.

they should just trash it all, and force the universal care one payer system in. It's the only intelligent, sensible choice out there.

Why is a country founded on illegal (or immoral) immigrants so obsessed with immigrants. It really is quite amusing.

The answer is simple. Yes it should. it is a free health care system so should treat EVERYONE.

As LCD says the more you fuck about with small interest groups the more expensive the system becomes. It should be a one tier one size fits all basic health care system. Anything else will end up costing more in the long run.

red tape is what costs money these days the less there is the cheaper a system becomes.

how does it work in countries with universal health care, if someone goes to UK for example illegally, are they covered?

by larrynelmira on Tue Sep 15, 09 6:09am [+]

they would be treated larry yes. If it were something more serious like a long term illness then the situation would be taken under review. if there were no possibility of that person returning home then they would treat them.

But if they did go to hospital they would also have to admit they were illegal immigrants. So most wouldn't even go for treatment.
by quirk99 on Tue Sep 15, 09 8:59am [+]

everyone here would be treated as well if they go to an emergency room, they would just receive a bill for services rendered and if they can't pay most likely the hospital would take the loss. In many states I think they can be covered by medicaid

Personally I have no problem if illegal immigrants are included
by larrynelmira on Tue Sep 15, 09 10:27am [+]

it's just silly.

a condition that would cost $5 to treat at a hospital (less if medicine was not distributed by a monopoly - like hospitals and doctors) would end up costing $500,000 when the illegal goes to the emergency room.

by LCD on Tue Sep 15, 09 11:09am [+]

^ yep, people without insurance illegal or not end up costing multiple times more

At least I would hope so. As A Christian minded person, I'll carry the burdon for the less fortunate. It's my duty.

If I don't see to the needs of my neighbor, in times of crisis or misfortune, he will rise up against me to survive. As a whole in the human civilization, we all must care about one another, those with means must see to the needs of those without. Otherwise WAR is guarenteed. Is your heart in the right place or are you prepared to kill those who are depived of lifes necessities?

Health care should be a basic human right, a lot of illegals are paid peanuts to provide services that everyone is happy to use and therefore cant always afford the insurance.
