In today's NY Times, it gave the number of people serving in the U.S. military as being Muslim, as something like 3,400. I thought it would be much higher. But not, I don't think it would be right to ban them because I don't believe Nanal Malik Hasan did what he did due to his religion. I think he was mentally ill.

This is about Hazan right? Well as far as i read it he had been asking to leave the army for months and didn't want to go to iraq. The shootings happened the day before.

The conclusion is obvious.

If he were a hidden islamic dissenter he would have kept his mouth shut and tried to fit in. He isn't and he didn't. He just knew the war was wrong and didn't want to go. Who can blame him.

It's hardly the first time this has happened at fort hood either. The suicide rate there is much higher than the number he killed too.
