Most people think they are pretty and have the same proud attitude concerning their attractiveness as everyone else does.

And IF you found a mate so extremely ugly as to repel the interest of others (as the song implies), that kind of repulsive ugliness is usually the result of a mental or physical impairment condition--and that person would usually not make a mate who can beneficially contribute to the relationship.
