You are respsonsible for your actions regardless. Your are an Adult.
If you get so intoxicated your lapse of judgement discards your fidelity and you don't remember doing it, it most definately is cheating.
And if it's on Jerry Springer it's an excuse to fool around.

I find it more disgusting, personally. Lacking the self-control to moderate and making such a mistake is one massive issue, but I feel it can be addressed. Hiding behind the substance like a shield is cowardice and incurable immaturity.
