I know how you guys feel; I felt I was in the same predicament all throughout my teens. When you're smarter/more mature than your parents and most people around you, life can suck pretty bad. Just suck it up. You'll be 18 soon. Then you can demand respect and they'll have no choice but to give it.
The human brain does not finish developing until about age 18. The prefrontal cortex is not even fully fused at age 15. Sure you can function and handle many aspects of life. But when you get out into the real world you have to deal with people who want nothing more than to exploit you.
What really annoys me is that some people OVER 18 still sct like little kids. Yet THEY are automatically considered adults. That really pisses me off

I hate it when people automatically get something. You should never just get to be an adult when you're 18. If you act like an adult, why can't you be treated like one.
I'm, not saying I should be an adult, just treated like one.

I'm with ReD QuEEn. You rgae is just how long you've been alive, it's not like that displays your IQ. Besides making the drinking age 35 will cause a MAD protest from people in their twenties.

I'm not asking to be an adult, just be given the respect I deserve. Something I've been cheated out of for all too long. Besides, I can handle 'adult' conversation also.

I know an 11 year old girl who's far and away more mature than many 18 year olds I know! I've referred her as a woman since I first met her, when she'd only just turned 10. The point being, it depends upon the individual in question.
