Morality is not set in stone, never to change. It is subject to the shifting view of the people living at that time.
What is Moral? That's a personal point of view.
Many things that were considered IMMORAL 100 years ago, are today considered MORAL and nobody gets upset about it.
There has been Adultry, Greed, Crime, Bigotry, Lying Stealing, Murder, and all other immoral things going on from the beginng. I mean Cain slew Able in the Bible.
So every generation thinks the morals of the time of their life, are the worst ever. When really it's just the same as before.

There's nothing wrong with the pursuit of personal happiness, in fact that's a very good thing. Urbanisation and multiculturalism lead to increasing depersonalisation and break-up of communities. People behave worse when they can be anonymous, as in cities.
The TV shows us how some people have so much and do so little for it, while others work hard all their lives for very little, that breeds resentment too.

the problem is the lack of self control that most americans have. everyone seems to live for indulgance and pleasure.
but americans are not the only guilty party. there is violence, terrorism, and disease rampant in a lot of developing countries and third world nations.
the unfair part is that it seems the entire world assumes it's the united state's responsibility to take care of other countries problems. then we get picked on the most.
while yes, it's true there is a lot of immorality in the USA, there is also a lot of immorality in the rest of the world.
it surprises me when non-americans bash the USA and then they come here, and make a lot of money. it seems to me that is hypocrisy. instead of bashing the USA, how about trying to help solve the problem instead of critisizing? because if you're not part of the solution, then you're part of the problem.
